Designed by John Wood the Younger in 1769, at a time when Bath was becoming fashionable among polite society, the Assembly Rooms were both a meeting place and venue for public functions. Bombed in 1942, they were subsequently restored and are now let to Bath & NE Somerset Council which has its Museum of Costume in the basement.


Open all year  11am – 5pm {until 28th February}
11am - 6pm {1st March until 31st October}
11am - 5pm {1st November until 28th February 2008}
